The National
Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) 2012 Spring Collection Conference will take
place at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront from May 16th through May 19th, with
early registration discounts available through April 16, 2012. The conference
will provide an exciting variety of educational and networking opportunities.Ad
“NARCA had record attendance at its Spring Collection Conference last
year, and I’m confident that trend will continue,” said NARCA President Lou
Freedman, an attorney with the Illinois-based law firm of Freedman Anselmo
Lindberg LLC. “These are, to say the least, interesting times for collection
attorneys. In addition to new court decisions, rules and federal and state
legislation, we now have new issues and opportunities with the Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau. Combining discussion on these topics with a
collegial setting and opportunity to network with colleagues, clients and
potential clients is a large part of what drives the exceptional attendance at
NARCA Collection Conferences.”
The NARCA Spring
Collection Conference will include two full days of CLE-approved educational
sessions on topical issues relating to counterclaims, vicarious liability, call
recording, admission of records, ethics, cloud computing, social media and
regulation and supervision by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
“Staying abreast of the law and regulation in these areas is absolutely
essential for practicing attorneys,” explained Theresa Weinberg, NARCA
Education Pillar Chair and attorney with the law firm Weltman, Weinberg &
Reis Co., LPA. “For members to have access to educational resources of this
caliber makes the NARCA Collection Conference a highly anticipated event.”
